Entire "guts" were removed, "suites" for 4 or 5 students were changed to doubles, ozite floor carpeting installed, flourescent [fluorescent] light fixtures, formica-topped decks and bed-dresser units, new plumbing etc., as well as new entrances to the dormitory, all new aluminum windows with drapes, student lounge canteen + bookstore, as well as counselor's suite all for ca. $ 175,000.oo, or as one BHE official put it, less than half the cost of the building from scratch.
